Make a plant information card
Retain the plant label and record its supplier, purchase date and any identification provided. Photograph the whole plant and a few visible details. Keep an uncertain identification clearly marked as uncertain.
Add the room location and dated observations without diagnosing a problem from appearance alone. Use care information appropriate to a confirmed identification. Check suitability separately where children or animals share the space.
